Over 3.8 lakh candidates appeared in the test conducted on December 14, 2014. Only about 2.5% candidates in the state have managed more than or equal to score 60% for the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination.

Only about 1% candidates from 2.45 lakh passed Paper I of TET, reflecting a 3.39% dip in pass percentage as compared to last year. In Paper II, 4.92% candidates of 1.54 lakh passed, registering a marginal dip of 1%.

The result is very bad and aspirants are not doing well as there is no guidance on how to prepare for this test.

State of Maharashtra implemented Right to education Act from 1st April 2010. State of Maharashtra defined professional and educational qualifications and compulsory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) according to NCTE guidelines by Government Resolution dated 13th February 2013. Procedure of conducting TET fixed by Government Resolution dated 23 August 2013 and responsibility of conducting examination is handed over to the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations, Pune.

Maharashtra TET 2015 Eligibility Criteria

i. A person who has acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the Government of Maharashtra Resolution dated 13 Feb. 2013.
ii. A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the appropriate authority, as the case may be) specified in the of Maharashtra Resolution dated 13 Feb. 2013.
Maharashtra TET 2014 Schools:-
A school of the State Government/UT with legislature and local authority referred to in sub-clause (i) of clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act; and (ii) a school referred to in sub-clause (ii) of clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act in that State/UT.
A school at (i) and (ii) may also consider eligibility of a candidate who has obtained TET Certificate awarded by another State/UT with legislature. In case a State Government/UT with legislature decides not to conduct a TET, a school at (i) and (ii) in that State/UT would consider the TET conducted by the Central Government.

Maharashtra TET 2020 Selection Procedure

A person who scores 60% or more in the TET exam will be considered as TET pass.

A person belonging to SC,ST,VJ,NT,OBC, differently abled persons, who scores 55% or more in the TET exam will be considered as TET pass.

 
Maharashtra TET 2020 Syllabus

The structure and content of the TET is given in the following paragraphs. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. The

There will be two papers of the TET. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
