The Government has Decided to Conduct The Karnataka State Eligibility Test – Karnataka SET 2020 Exam Once Again in the Current year to help more Number of Candidates to Apply for Karnataka SET 2020 The State Government has announced the SET Karnataka 2020 Latest Schedule now.

The Karnataka SET 2020 will be held as per following schedule


1. Online registration starts from: July 20, 2020

2. Submission of registration fee through e-challan starts from: July 20, 2020

3. Last date of online registration: August 25, 2020

4. Last date for Submission of registration fee through e-challan: September 21, 2020

5. Entrance Exam Date : December 6, 2020

The candidates are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:

Karnataka SET 2020 Eligibility Criteria


Candidates who have secured at least 55% of marks (without rounding off) for general category and 50% for Schedule Category (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons With Disability (PWD-VH/PH), Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB in master’s degree OR equivalent examination from universities / institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi, in subjects like Science, Humanities (including languages), Social science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic science etc., are eligible to appear for this test. 

Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also appear for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and for those who clear the KSET examination, eligibility certificate will be issued only on production of proof for having passed the Master’s degree or equivalent examination securing at least 55% marks (without rounding off) for general category and 50% for Schedule Category (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons With Disability (PWD-VH/PH), Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB, within two years from the date of KSET examination, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.

The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s degree completed on or before 19th September 1991 (irrespective of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks for appearing in KSET examination.

Candidates shall appear for KSET examination in their relevant subject of their postgraduation only, in case the candidate did not find the subject of his post graduation in the list of KSET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year.

Candidates other than general category are required to mention their social status (Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, SC, ST, PWD (VH/PH)) in the online application form. Candidates may note that they should satisfy the eligibility conditions with reference to the documents such as PG degree marks cards and certificates, category certificates and certificates related to PWD (VH/PH) enclosed with their application. The category certificates submitted by the candidates must be issued by the competent authority and the issue date of such certificate should not be earlier to 1st July 2020. In case their certificate is found to be invalid by the KSET agency at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.

Candidates should note that their candidature is provisional. The mere fact that an admission card has been issued to a candidate will not imply that the KSET center has accepted his/her candidature. Candidates may note that candidature will be deemed final only upon verification of eligibility conditions.

Karnataka SET 2020 Application Form


Candidates seeking admission to KSET 2020 examination must apply online http://kset.uni-mysore.ac.in or through link available with the University of Mysore website www.uni-mysore.ac.in.

Application Fee:

Registration fee has to be paid through Bank Challan by down loading from  SET website. For further details visit www.kset.uni-mysore.ac.in

Rs. 700/-(plus Rs. 40/- as Bank Charge) for General candidates or Rs. 350/- (plus Rs. 40/- as Bank Charge) for SC/ST/OBC/PH/VH Candidates.

The Fee is to be deposited at any Branch of the United Bank of India. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Karnataka SET 2020 Selection Procedure


1. A person who scores 60% or more in the Karnataka-SET examination will be considered ‘Karnataka SET passed’ or ‘Karnataka-SET qualified’. This will be the qualifying marks for all categories.

2. Negative Marks: There shall be no negative marks for the test.

Karnataka SET 2020 Syllabus

Syllabus for KSET examination will be the same as in UGC/CSIR-NET. Syllabi for all the KSET subjects can be downloaded from the KSET website http://kset.uni-mysore.ac.in. The KSET center, Mysore will not send the syllabus to the candidates individually.

Karnataka SET  2020 Hall Ticket

✓ Examination Hall Ticket will be provided online to all candidates 10 days prior to the date of theexamination. Candidates have to click the link “Download Examination Hall Ticket”. ProvideRegistration Number and print the online Examination Hall Ticket.

✓ Candidates have to download and get a printout of the Examination Hall Ticket. It will not besent to the candidates by post.

✓ Candidate must carry the Examination Hall Ticket and also one additional photo identity suchas a Driving License, Voter ID, College/University Identity Card, PAN Card, etc, to theexamination center on the day of the examination.

✓ If your Examination Hall Ticket does not display the image of your photograph, you have topaste the photo at the appropriate place and get it attested from a competent authority.

✓ The candidate is not allowed in to the examination hall without the Examination Hall Ticket.

✓ Please confirm that your Name, Subject, Centre, etc, shown in the Examination Hall Ticket arecorrect. If there is any error in the Examination Hall Ticket please contact SET officeimmediately and submit a written application. Otherwise SET Office will not be responsible formaking necessary corrections and will not be responsible for providing benefits or for lossarising out of these to the candidates.

Procedure to download Karnataka SET 2020 Hall Ticket Online

1:- Log on to the official website www.kset.uni-mysore.ac.in.

2:- Follow the link of “Examination” and click on 'Hall Ticket'.

3:- Enter Registration Number in the space provided.

4:- Hall Ticket/Admit Card will be show on your screen.

5:- Print-copy or Download in your computer.
